YOGA SOUL•LEC•TIVE was created in 2020, when the world seemed to turn upside down and we were forced to find new ways to connect and continue. With all this change putting a new wind in their sails, Raleigh locals Katie Clemons and Jolene Johnson decided to take yoga out of the box, to draw outside of the lines, to create a space that wasn’t necessarily a space. Their idea was to offer an in studio experience all over the triangle, without the limitations and four walls of a more traditional studio room. With Willow, their trusty ‘71 Volkswagen, leading the way, Raleigh’s first mobile studio was born and this amazing collective of souls began to bud. After months of exploring gorgeous parks, hitting the water for PADDLE + YOGA, and lots of cozy evenings practicing by the fire, it was time to find a permanent home base for the Collective.

In December 2020, YOGA SOUL•LEC•TIVE settled in to a stunning artists’ loft in Raleigh’s historic Warehouse District. With high ceilings, original hardwood floors + exposed brick throughout, the space has a vibe all of its own - a feeling of being welcomed home with open arms. The glass walls allow all the natural light to soak through the studio and the warm air and soft scent of copal make it feel like you’re being wrapped in a hug as soon as you walk in. In spring of 2023, Katie + Jolene were drawn to a space in Downtown Wake Forest with the same sacred sensation, and opened their first satellite location - a space where the spaciousness speaks for itself.

At YOGA SOUL•LEC•TIVE, we know that yoga is so much more than a physical practice - it is a spiritual discipline that gives us an opportunity to experience wholeness by yoking the mind, body, heart + soul. Our studios are intentionally void of mirrors and other distractions, so you can focus on what you feel in practice, rather than what you see.
